The American EBM duo Youth Code returns to the stage after a five-year hiatus and brings its tour to Finland. The band will perform at On the Rocks in Helsinki on Thursday, June 11, and at G Livelab in Tampere on Friday, June 12. Tickets for both shows are now on sale.
Led by Sara Taylor and Ryan George, Youth Code’s music draws influences from artists such as New Order and Depeche Mode, but with a distinctly heavier and more aggressive edge. Their sound, blending synth-pop and dance rock, has been described as a striking fusion of steel-like industrial and hardcore-driven angst.
Released in spring 2025, the Yours, With Malice EP is shaped by influences from ’90s industrial metal and machine-driven grooves. Captivating melodies combined with Sanford Parker’s powerful production — featuring finely tuned, floor-shaking drum sounds — drive the record forward. The making of the EP also marked a period of reflection for the band, exploring its identity and future direction.
Prior to the pandemic, the band gained significant acclaim and media attention. Early releases such as A Place to Stand (2014) and Commitment to Complications (2016) took Youth Code on tour with artists like Chelsea Wolfe and Skinny Puppy, as well as to large arenas alongside My Chemical Romance and Nine Inch Nails.
In 2026, Youth Code celebrates its return with an extensive world tour. The band was last seen in Finland in 2018, opening for Carpenter Brut at The Circus in Helsinki. Now, the duo takes the stage for the first time in Finland with their own headline club shows.
