THE AMERICAN INDIE-FOLK BAND THE MOUNTAIN GOATS TO PERFORM IN FINLAND FOR THE FIRST TIME

American indie-folk band The Mountain Goats will make their first-ever visit to Finland next year, performing in an intimate club setting at Kuudes Linja in Helsinki on October 5th. Ticket sale begins on Friday November 21st 2025 at Tiketti.

Founded in California in 1991 by singer-songwriter John Darnielle, The Mountain Goats have built a remarkable career in melodic indie music. Their sound blends a strong folk influence with rich instrumental arrangements, and in their early years, the band became known for its distinctive lo-fi releases.

The Mountain Goats’ 23rd studio album, Through This Fire Across from Peter Balkan, was released on November 7th on Darnielle’s own label Cadmean Dawn, and it has received highly enthusiastic reviews. Guest performers on the album include Tommy Stinson of The Replacements as well as actor, composer, film director, and playwright Lin-Manuel Miranda.

The evening in Helsinki will be opened by singer-songwriter Craig Finn, best known as the frontman of The Hold Steady. His recent album Always Been was produced by Adam Granduciel and features Sam Fender and Kathleen Edwards.
