ONEOHTRIX POINT NEVER RETURNS TO FINLAND IN NOVEMBER

American electronic music visionary Oneohtrix Point Never will return to Finland after more than a decade. Known for his visually striking performances, the artist will bring his new live show to Ääniwalli in Helsinki on Thursday 13 November. Tickets go on sale on Friday 15 August at 9 a.m. via Tiketti.

Operating with a broad and distinctive range of styles, samples and production methods, Oneohtrix Point Never, also known as Daniel Lopatin, has collaborated with a diverse and high-profile roster of artists including Charli XCX, Iggy Pop, James Blake and Rosalía. He has also produced music for FKA Twigs, David Byrne, Nine Inch Nails and MGMT. Perhaps most notably, Lopatin has worked closely with Canadian superstar The Weeknd, serving as executive producer on the acclaimed albums Dawn FM and Hurry Up Tomorrow. He was also the musical director for The Weeknd’s Super Bowl halftime show in 2021. The November show will also feature material from his upcoming album.

In film scoring, some of Oneohtrix Point Never’s best-known works include Josh and Benny Safdie’s Uncut Gems (2019) and Good Time (2017), the latter of which earned him the Best Soundtrack Award at the Cannes Film Festival. Lopatin has also composed for Sofia Coppola’s The Bling Ring and the television series The Curse by Nathan Fielder and Benny Safdie.

Lopatin’s most recent studio album, Again, was released in 2023 on the highly respected Warp label (home to artists such as Brian Eno, Aphex Twin and Autechre). Known for his visually compelling performances, Oneohtrix Point Never’s current tour features creative direction by multidisciplinary artist Freeka Tet, who is responsible for the concert’s visual design together with animator Nate Boyce.
