Born in Milan and later based in Berlin, Albanese released his debut album The Houseboat and the Moon in 2014. His cinematic instrumental compositions — blending modern classical, pop and electronic ambient elements — made an immediate and lasting impression with their meditative beauty. The albums that followed further deepened his distinctive expression and established him as one of the most compelling names in modern, boundary-pushing piano music.
In 2022, Albanese released the highly acclaimed album Before and Now Seems Infinite, which expanded his sonic universe into richer electronic textures and narrative-driven atmospheres. His most recent and fifth studio album, Blackbirds and the Sun of October, was released this February on the Mercury KX label (home to artists such as Ólafur Arnalds and Bat For Lashes). Albanese has also composed music for television, ballet, fashion shows, commercials and films. His work includes The Twelve (2019), Autumn Beat (2022) and Last Swim (2023).
Albanese is known for live performances that offer audiences a moment of calm and contemplation — a peaceful space carved out from the noise of the world.
