Singer-songwriter Richard Dawson, known for his folk music with psychedelic influences, will perform in September at Tampere's Klubi and Helsinki's Kuudes Linja. Tickets for the concerts are now on sale at Tiketti.
Dawson, who infuses black humor into his psychedelic folk sound, beautifully depicts themes like sorrow and trauma in his songs. These emotions come to life through melodies and his battered, clanging guitar, which seems to have taken a few bruises along the way. His Brexit-themed album "2020" (2019) was hailed by many critics as an absolute masterpiece of its time.
Dawson is also remembered for his collaborative album "Henki" with the Finnish band Circle, released in 2021. His seventh studio album, "The Ruby Cord," was released in 2022 under the Domino label. Dawson has previously performed in Finland at venues such as G Livelab and festivals like Sideways, Porispere, and Manse Psych Fest. This time, his visit to Finland includes both Kuudes Linja in Helsinki and Klubi in Tampere.
