Moon Shot releases a new album this fall, and will embark on a release tour. Kicking off at Helsinki’s Tavastia Club on Friday, October 16, the tour will take the band across Finland’s biggest cities as well as to eight shows in Germany. Tickets are now on sale through the venues’ own ticketing channels.
Moon Shot’s upcoming third album, Thunderlust, will be released in September. The band’s main songwriter, guitarist, and producer of the album, Jussi Ylikoski, describes the new music as follows:
“The new album has been crafted with great care, and the songs sound really strong. There are new musical dimensions to discover, and it’s exciting to perform the new material live alongside our familiar live favorites.”
According to vocalist Ville Malja, Thunderlust encapsulates a wide range of powerful emotions:
“It feels like Thunderlust is becoming an intense trip where fears, dreams, and passions have been compressed into a tight rock album. What’s coming is more than just music — it’s a whole world that can be experienced not only through the record, but also live. It’s truly exciting to hit the road with new music!”
Moon Shot consists of musicians Ville Malja, Jussi Ylikoski, Mikko Hakila, and Henkka Seppälä, known from bands Lapko, Disco Ensemble, and Children of Bodom. The band’s debut album Confession was released in fall 2021 and took the group to festival and club stages across Europe. Produced by Jussi Ylikoski, Julius Mauranen, and Grammy-winning producer David Bottrill (Tool, The Smashing Pumpkins, Muse, Placebo), the second album The Power, has established Moon Shot as one of the most promising rock bands both in Finland and Central Europe.
