In collaboration with Range Rover, À la Park brings world-class chefs Toni Toivanen and Juho Ekegren back home to Finland.
Finnish chefs Toni Toivanen and Juho Ekegren will bring their world-class expertise to À la Park festival for two days in August. The unique fine dining restaurant Koti will serve a specially created five-course menu to a limited number of guests for five exclusive seatings. Guests will dine at long communal tables in an intimate setting in the middle of a festival site by the sea.
Toivanen, a key figure at Noma — a three Michelin star restaurant and five-time recipient of world’s best restaurant title — and Ekegren, head chef at Popl, a popular burger restaurant run by Noma alumni, became friends during their studies and while working at Hans Välimäki’s Chez Dominique, Finland’s first restaurant to receive two Michelin stars.
“It is great to return to Finland to cook. Seasonal ingredients offer many possibilities and I'll also try to find ingredients never used in Finland before”, Toivanen tells.
To À la Park, Toivanen will bring techniques and flavors developed at Noma, combining them with seasonal Finnish ingredients to form a festival menu unlike anything available elsewhere.
"Our goal was to offer festival guests a truly unique dining experience. The fact that Toni and Juho are bringing a concept as exceptional as this to Helsinki goes far beyond our dreams,” Tuomo Tähtinen, Managing Director of Fullsteam Agency agrees.
Toni Toivanen spent nearly a decade working at Noma and its Test Kitchen in Copenhagen. Juho Ekegren is also known as the former owner and head chef of Chapter, which was named Restaurant of the Year in 2019 before later closing its doors in Helsinki.
