One of the most compelling new names in contemporary Sámi music, Emil Kárlsen will perform in Finland next winter, taking the stage at Korjaamon Kulmasali in Helsinki on Wednesday, February 17. Tickets go on sale on Friday, June 5 at 9 AM.
Singing in Northern Sámi, Emil Kárlsen’s music blends traditional joik, electronic soundscapes, and arrangements enriched by classical strings. His 2023 debut album Nágirvárrái gained attention for its distinctive fusion of Sámi heritage, modern pop production, and ambitious artistic collaborations. The album established Kárlsen as one of the most exciting emerging artists from the North. His forthcoming release, due in September 2026, continues to explore themes of identity, cultural heritage, and humanity.
