American composer Bear McCreary will perform in Finland for the first time as part of his The Singularity tour.
The artist, who has composed music for series such as The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, The Walking Dead, and Outlander, will take the stage at Tavastia in Helsinki on Friday, August 7. Tickets for the show will go on sale via Tiketti on Wednesday, March 18 at 1 PM.
Breakthrough for Bear McCreary came in 2004 with his score for the cult TV series Battlestar Galactica, after which major projects quickly followed one after another.
Released in 2024, McCreary’s progressive metal–inspired concept album The Singularity features rock heavyweights such as Slash, Serj Tankian, Corey Taylor, and Rufus Wainwright. The album was also accompanied by a collaborative comic book created with several artists.
The Singularity follows a sci-fi inspired narrative in which heavy guitar sounds intertwine with cinematic orchestration, forming a tense and beautiful whole. In live performances, the work expands into a full audiovisual experience, which will be seen in August at Tavastia.
