Having established itself as one of the most distinctive names in modern electropop, Austra returns to Finland this summer for a show at Tiivistämö in Helsinki on Wednesday, August 5. Tickets go on sale on Monday, June 8 at 12 PM.
The alter ego of producer and songwriter Katie Stelmanis, Austra has released five critically acclaimed albums and toured clubs and concert halls around the world for over fifteen years. Finnish audiences last had the chance to experience Austra’s dreamlike and experimental pop live in 2017.
Hailing from Toronto, Austra’s latest album Chin Up Buttercup embraces a more club-oriented and dancefloor-focused sound. Stelmanis has cited Madonna’s landmark album Ray of Light (1998) as one of the record’s key reference points. In a live setting, the songs expand into immersive performances where powerful electronic production, carefully crafted atmospheres and dancefloor energy come together. Alongside its own headline shows, Austra will also be touring with Moby this summer.
