The long-standing Canadian metal band Anvil will perform two shows in Finland (Helsinki and Tampere) in October 2024.
Inspired by the British new wave and led by Steve "Lips" Kudlow, Anvil is known for pushing the boundaries and style of their genre towards a louder, faster, and heavier direction. Founded in the late 1970s and having released 20 studio albums throughout their career, the band is known for its intense rhythmic style, exemplified by drummer Robb Reiner's distinctive use of the double bass drum.
Anvil's second album "Metal on Metal" (1982), is considered their breakthrough and a defining and mainstreaming release for their genre. Bands such as Metallica, Slayer, and Anthrax have cited Anvil as a source of admiration and inspiration.
Having toured the world extensively for years, Anvil is a devoted fan of smaller venues and has continued to perform in clubs throughout their career. In October, the band will take the stage in Helsinki and Tampere to the delight of their Finnish fans.
