Formed in 1998 in North Carolina, Weedeater has gained a reputation for its relentlessly heavy and buzzing rhythms, infused with the band's signature hillbilly aesthetic, drug-fueled lyrics, and the raspy vocals of bassist-vocalist Dixie Dave, who previously played in Buzzov*en and Bongzilla. Their third full-length album, God Luck and Good Speed (2007), recorded by the renowned Steve Albini (known for his work with Nirvana and Pixies), brought the band well-deserved attention.
