Post-metal band The Ocean will return to Finland at the end of the year. The German band, known as a pioneer of their genre, will open their European tour The End of An Eon at On The Rocks in Helsinki on Wednesday 4 December. Performing with an expanded line-up, The Ocean will perform the entirety of their latest album Holocene, released in 2023, as well as the best bits from their two-part concept album Phanerozoic, released in 2018 and 2020.
Crossing genre boundaries with their music of post-rock, prog-metal and experimental hardcore, The Ocean have earned a reputation as a revered live act around the world. Having toured with the likes of Opeth, Mastodon, Cult Of Luna, Anathema, Devin Townsend and The Dillinger Escape Plan, the band has also been seen at major European festivals such as Hellfest, Roskilde and Roadburn. The Ocean last played a sold-out show in Finland at On The Rocks in 2022.
