SWEATMASTER

SWEATMASTER

Sweatmaster skyrocketed to the top of the Finnish alternative rock scene at the turn of the millennium. Creating an energetic brew of garage rock and rootsy riffs, the band recorded four albums during their active career, gaining praise from audiences and critics alike. The first two albums, Sharp Cut and Tom Tom Bullet, were released on the Danish label Bad Afro. The band toured extensively in clubs and at major festivals both at national and international level, opening for The Hives and Motörhead, among others. The band received rave reviews from media outlets ranging from top UK magazines to the BBC. The latter albums, Animal and Dig Up the Knife, were released through the Finnish label Fullsteam Records. The pace of touring accelerated further until 2011, when the band members felt their creativity and enthusiasm waning and the band went into hiatus. In 2022, Sweatmaster made a return appearance at Turku's Kesärauha festival to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their debut album. The show marked a new phase: the band became active again, both on the stage and in new music. Svart Records will release Sweatmaster's new album in early 2026.
