SUMAC

SUMAC

SUMAC is an American post-metal/sludge band founded in 2014 by vocalist-guitarist Aaron Turner, previously a member of bands such as Old Man Gloom and ISIS. Turner’s goal with SUMAC was to create the heaviest music of his career. The trio was soon completed by drummer Nick Yacyshyn and bassist Brian Cook, who also plays in Russian Circles. SUMAC’s debut album, The Deal, was released in 2015 through the renowned Profound Lore label. Since then, the band has released three more studio albums and two full-length collaborations with Japanese artist Keiji Haino. In addition to his work with SUMAC, Turner has founded the record labels Hydra Head and SIGE, created album artwork for various bands, and collaborated with numerous musicians.
