SPARKS

The American duo Sparks has enjoyed a remarkable 50-year career with 26 studio albums. Since the 1970s, brothers Russell and Ron Mael have carved out a unique path, known for their theatrical, concept-driven performances, distinctive composition style, and sharp lyrics. Some of the duo’s career highlights include their 1974 chart hit This Town Ain't Big Enough for Both of Us, the disco hit The Number One Song in Heaven, their collaboration with Giorgio Moroder on When I'm With You, the 1994 house/techno-influenced When Do I Get to Sing 'My Way', and their 2015 album FFS with indie rock band Franz Ferdinand.

Sparks has inspired many of the world’s most respected musicians, such as Depeche Mode, Björk, The Ramones, and Faith No More, and has significantly influenced the development of genres like synth-pop, new wave, and post-punk. Their July 2020 studio album A Steady Drip, Drip, Drip debuted at number seven on the UK charts and was met with critical acclaim worldwide.
