Rytmihäiriö was formed in 1988 and broke up in 1992 only to be reformed with a new crew in year 1998. The ensemble now equals singer Une, guitarrist Janne, bassist Ande and drummer Kosmo.
Rytmihäiriö describes their music as surmacore (aka. "murdercore") which is a combination of fast hardcore and harder sub-genres of metal music. In their lyrics, Rytmihäiriö speaks of the destiny of those left outside our society, and the stories often include alcohol and homicide.
The band's lates release is the album “Surmacore”, released in August 2023.
