Taking influences from soul, punk, jazz and experimental music, Pink Siifu, real name Livingston Matthews, started making music about ten years ago. His art deals with life and its struggles without shying away from political or personal themes, as was evident in the songs on "NEGRO" album (2020), which dealt with topics such as racism and police violence.
Genre-bending Pink Siifu has released numerous albums that combine musical diversity, genre-bending and poetic lyrics. His output ranges from atmospheric lo-fi rhythms to riotous punk. Music media Pitchfork has compared the artist's music and styles to those of such diverse artists as Anderson .Paak, Kanye West and Outkast. Pink Siifu works closely with producer Swarvey, who is also known for his ability to fuse hip-hop, jazz and soul.
Pink Siifu is constantly working on new music, as well as seeking ways of self-expression in other art forms. Pink Siifu has said that the foundation of his art is the expression of truth, love and glory.
