US-based Kenyan singer-songwriter Ondara debutes in Finland. The Grammy-nominated artist is a self-learned musician, who turned traumatic experiences of moving from Nairobi to Minnesota into soulful, touching and musically encahnting songs.
With only a few years behind as an artist, Ondara has already performed as on opening act for names like The Lumineers, First Aid Kit, and Neil Young. Ondara's debut album "Tales of America" (2019) was an honest piece of art that discusess being an American from different perspectives. The artist has told to have written almost 20 songs under the title "American Dream" before being able to decide, which belonged to the album.
Ondara is also a visual artisti, and has created an alter ego the Spanish Villager, who's adventures can also be seen in the form of a graphic novel. The Spanish Villager was born to be a superhero Ondara themselves needed.
