After almost three decades of waiting, the US power pop band Nada Surf will arrive in Finland for the first time next autumn. The highly anticipated show will take place at Tavastia in Helsinki on Thursday 25 September. Tickets will go on sale at Tiketti on Wednesday 30 April at 9am.
Ingeniously combining catchy pop hooks with emotionally compelling power chords, Nada Surf made their breakthrough to the forefront of alternative music with their debut “High/Low” (1996), from which their breakout single “Popular” has cemented their place among indie rock classics. Over the years, the New York-based band has established itself as an internationally acclaimed live band, and has released numerous critically acclaimed albums, including “Let Go” (2002), “The Weight Is a Gift” (2005) and “The Stars Are Indifferent to Astronomy” (2012). The most recent, “Moon Mirror”, released in autumn 2024, was listed among the best indie rock albums of its year of release by the prestigious Rolling Stone magazine, among others.
