MY BLOODY VALENTINE

MY BLOODY VALENTINE

My Bloody Valentine is an Irish-English alternative rock band formed in Dublin in 1983 by Kevin Shields and Colm Ó Cíosóig. Known for their groundbreaking use of distortion, reverb, and innovative guitar techniques, they are considered pioneers of the shoegaze genre. The band achieved critical acclaim with the release of Isn’t Anything (1988) and Loveless (1991), with the latter often hailed as one of the greatest alternative albums of all time for its dense, ethereal soundscapes and Shields' "glide guitar" technique.

Following Loveless, the band went on a lengthy hiatus, only returning to release new music in 2013 with the album m b v. My Bloody Valentine’s influence on alternative and experimental music remains significant, inspiring countless bands and cementing their legacy as one of the most innovative acts in modern rock.
