Combining influences from thrash, speed, and black metal with a punk attitude, Midnight is an American cult band founded by Jamie Walters, aka Athenar, in Cleveland in 2003.
Known for their brutal style, Midnight gained wider recognition with their debut album Satanic Royalty, released in 2011. The album, known for tracks like "You Can't Stop Steel" and "Rip This Hell," set the stage for the band's filthy "lust, filth, and sleaze" attitude. Midnight's second album, No Mercy For Mayhem, was released in 2014, followed by Sweet Death And Ecstasy in October 2017.
Midnight's production reflects influences from various sources: the band has been compared to Motörhead and Venom, as well as early Discharge and Bathory. Their sound also shows echoes of Judas Priest from the late 70s and early 80s and the early work of Turbonegro.
