The charismatic messenger of retro music, Michael Bleu, has recently become a favorite among nostalgia-hungry music lovers, captivating fans of indie music, soul, and traditional schlager alike.
Bleu’s biggest hit to date, Oi Oi, made its way onto the playlists of Radio Suomi and Radio Suomipop and even topped Spotify’s viral chart for a while. The song has already racked up over 700,000 streams on Spotify. On stage, his five-piece band delivers an explosively colorful mix, ranging from funky jam sessions to monumental soul outbursts, with sharp dives into guitar-driven rock. Bleu has also been featured as a pre-show artist on Elämän biisi and took on the role of producer for Pete Parkkonen’s Syntisten pöytä rendition on Vain elämää.
In September, the artist released his fifth studio album, Futuristik Soul, which presents his sound in version 2.0—where retro soul and modern psychedelia meet in perfect harmony. The first single, Kaiken sais räjäyttää, dropped in late May, followed by Ikuisuus, which serves as the theme song for Lapua 1976, the second most-watched Finnish film of last year. Bleu also performed the song live on Huomenta Suomi.
