Metal De Facto’s latest album, Land of the Rising Sun – Part II (Reaper Entertainment), was released in March 2026. On this latest effort, the Finnish power metal outfit combines the melody and energy of classic power metal with cinematic storytelling, creating a powerful, dynamic, and modern listening experience. The album’s concept delves deep into Japanese culture, history, and mythology. Produced by guitarist Esa Orjatsalo, the record emphasizes a natural, organic sound while drawing inspiration from the great names of power metal as well as progressive and contemporary metal influences. The album also features a guest appearance by Japanese multi-instrumentalist Ryoji Shinomoto (Ryujin), adding an authentic touch to its overall aesthetic.
Founded in Helsinki in 2017, Metal De Facto is a power/heavy metal band whose members are well known from various established Finnish metal acts. The band’s core concept is to explore and reinterpret the history and mythology of a specific region, country, or culture on each album. Metal De Facto released its debut album, Imperium Romanum, in late 2019, followed by its sophomore release, Land of the Rising Sun – Part I, in early 2024.
