Lähiöbotox, known for fusing heavy metal riffs with rap, released their latest album “Surullinen tapaus – sellaista on vapaus” through Ranka Kustannus in November 2024. Alongside touring, the band’s year was also marked by the premiere of African Metal Tour, a documentary series about the band that aired on Finland’s Yle channels.
Formed in 2018 in Roihupelto, Eastern Helsinki, Lähiöbotox first broke through to a wider Finnish metal audience with their debut album “Rikkinäinen Suomi”. Their follow-up album “Itä-Metal” propelled the band onto nearly every major rock festival in the country. Since then, the group has become one of the most closely followed acts in Finnish metal. The band has also received Emma Award nominations in categories such as Metal Album of the Year and Newcomer of the Year, and won the Metal of the Year award at the 2025 Indie Awards.
