K-X-P is an electronic rock band formed by Timo Kaukolampi and Tomi Leppänen, both known from acts such as Op:l Bastards, Circle, and Aavikko. The band’s latest album, IV, was released in 2019. The album moves between minimalist techno, rave-driven rhythms, and shades of psychedelic disco. The monumental three-track work also features contributions from a diverse group of leading Finnish musicians, including bassist Lauri Porra, vocalist Ringa Manner, drummer Anssi Nykänen, composer and harmonium player Tuomas Kantelinen, jouhikko virtuoso Pekko Käppi, and K-X-P’s “P”, Tuomo Puranen, who is responsible for the band’s modular synthesizer work. K-X-P is currently working on new material.
