American composer Julianna Barwick enchants audiences with meditative, electronic music, and nonverbal vocals. The Los Angeles based Barwick started their career with self-published projects already in the beginning of the 2000’s. Her career was boosted by a deal with Sufjan Stevens’ record label Asthmatic Kitty, followed by Barwick’s debut album “The Magic Place”. Barwick’s fourth studio album “Healing Is a Miracle” was published last year, and it was hyped for example in the Finnish music media Soundi in their five-star-review. The album was described as an unbelievably peaceful experience.
Barwick’s music has gotten inspiration from choir music, which can be heard in the harmonic vocals of her songs. Characteristic for the artist’s music are also ethereal mood, and electronic sounds.
