Irish post-rock juggernaut God Is An Astronaut returns to Finland as part of their Embers tour. The instrumental band, which enjoys a global cult following, will perform at the Ääniwalli Club in Helsinki on Tuesday 13 May. Opener of the event will be virtuoso cello artist Jo Quail.
Painting in the dark colours of Kraut, space rock and electronic music, God Is An Astronaut has grown over a career spanning more than 20 years to become one of the genre's most prominent acts. The band, which has been compared to the likes of Sigur Rós and Explosions In The Sky, has released a total of 11 studio albums, the most recent of which is Embers, released in early September. Like its predecessors, the album has drawn rave reviews from fans and critics around the world. The band, loved by Finnish audiences, was last seen in Helsinki at the sold-out Tavastia in 2023.
