Free Carmen is a four-piece alternative rock band. Over the course of a three-year creative process, the group has developed and refined their sound, which materialized in the fall of 2024 when the band retreated to E-Studio to record not just one but two albums together with Väinö Karjalainen (known for his work with Arppa, J. Karjalainen, Ursus Factory).
Free Carmen’s sound is firmly rooted in the power of live band performance and organic expression. Solstice I and Solstice II together form the band’s self-produced debut album, inspired by light and the natural cycle of the year. The songs unfold like the seasons, moving from brightness into darkness and back again. Drawing from solstice themes, the double album is released in two parts six months apart. In spring 2026, the band will tour Finland on their Solstice Tour album tour.
