Italian composer and pianist Federico Albanese released his debut album The Houseboat and the Moon in 2014. His cinematic instrumental pieces, blending modern classical, pop and electronic ambient, made an immediate and lasting impression with their meditative beauty. The albums that followed deepened his distinctive musical expression and established him as one of the most fascinating names in modern, boundary-pushing piano music.
In 2022, Albanese released the acclaimed album Before and Now Seems Infinite, which further expanded his musical world toward richer electronic textures and narrative-driven tones. His most recent, fifth studio album Blackbirds and the Sun of October was released this February on the Mercury KX label (home to artists such as Ólafur Arnalds and Bat For Lashes). Albanese has also composed music for television, ballet, fashion shows, commercials and films. His works include The Twelve (2019), Autumn Beat (2022) and Last Swim (2023). His latest release Quietude came out in September.
Albanese is known for live performances that offer listeners a serene space and a moment of calm in the midst of a noisy world.
