Derya Yildrim is a Berlin-based singer and multi-instrumentalist whose take on modern Anatolian music has made them one of the genre’s leading names. The artist performs together with the Turkish psych-pop group Grup Şimşek. The end result of putting the two together is unique, Anatolian folk music combined with psychedelic and progressive sounds. The ensemble has released three albums that have completely melted the hearts of an international audience. The name of the ensemble refers to both ocean and lightnings, and the songs they create are just as versatile, fascinating and magical as the expression.
