Inspired by Dr Dre, The Bomb Squad, industrial and noise music, producer-buddies William Hutson and Jonathan Snipes formed hip-hop trio Clipping in Los Angeles in 2009, and rapper Daveed Diggs joined the group the following year. Self-released in 2013, "midcity" was well received and by the summer of 2014 the band's official first studio album "CLPPNG" was released on the renowned Sub Pop label. The band's fourth album "Visions of Bodies Being Burned" was released in 2020, and their sound has been compared to artists such as Death Grips and My Bloody Valentine.
