Counted among the most significant Finnish metal bands of the early 2000s, Charon made a triumphant return in late summer 2025 with an eight-show comeback tour that sold out in its entirety. Known for its distinctive and versatile sound, the band also released a new single, “Fall of Angels”.
“Last summer’s comeback tour genuinely felt like coming home for us. Playing together again and sharing that experience with audiences night after night was absolutely mind-blowing — the message was clear to all of us: Charon has been missed, and the feeling is mutual. Not everyone who wanted to see us managed to catch the shows last year, so there’s no way we could leave it at that,” comments the band’s vocalist JP Leppäluoto.
Founded in the town of Raahe in 1992, Charon rose to the forefront of Finnish metal with the release of their 2002 album Downhearted. During its original run, the band released a total of five studio albums and one compilation album. Renowned for its intense live energy, Charon toured extensively both in Finland and internationally alongside other major names in the genre, including Sentenced and Nightwish. Among the band’s best-known songs are “Little Angel”, “Colder”, and “Ride On Tears”.
