Astrid Swan is a Finnish songwriter, performer and author. She has released seven solo albums as well as a series of collaborations with other artists. Swan's albums have been released in Finland, the United States, England, Germany and Scandinavia. Swan has toured extensively in Europe as well as the United States.
Swan gets inspiration from the American singer-songwriter tradition, the present and past of pop music, weaving influences from her habitat in the northern hemisphere into her compositions. As a lyricist, she is a skilled poetic storyteller. Swan’s sixth solo album From the Bed and Beyond won the prestigious Teosto Award in 2018. The same year, the record was nominated for the Scandinavian Nordic Music Prize, which awards the best album of the year. Swan herself worked as a record producer, recorder and mixer of the album.
